A big congratulations to Chris McNeice who figured out ahead of time that this year’s musical will be The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. If you missed the information meeting, it’s not too late! Just find us in the halls. It’ll be like a one-on-one information meeting just for you. See you at the Bee!

From the Sports Desk:

  • Congratulations to January’s athletes of the month, Madison Dunlop and Hayden Pedwell.
  • Madison is a member of the junior girls’ volleyball team and has earned a starting role and rarely comes off the floor. Her strong serving, steady passing and tremendous defensive hustle have been instrumental in the team’s progress over the season.  Madison also improved her hitting skills significantly over the season.

Hayden is a member of the junior boys’ basketball team.  He is at every practice ready to learn. He is hard working and as such, he is his hardest critic.  He is an important player at both ends of the court.  He is the first player to hold a door or extend a hand to a fallen opponent. A real gentleman.

If Madison and Hayden could please meet Mrs. Clarke today at lunch by the gym for your photo.

On this day in the history of sport….Al Spalding opened up his first sporting goods store in 1876.

In Olympic news….Canada has opened strong winning a total of 7 medals so far and they currently sit on top of the leaderboard!  Go Canada Go!!
