It is hard for me to believe that we have only 7 weeks of classes before the exams start at GHS (Exams June 19 - 22) and that another commencement is 'just around the corner' (Thursday June 28th -GHS Grad). Mid-term report cards were mailed out today (April 27) to all homes. If you have not received your son or daughter's report by the end of the following week, please call the front office.
There are a number of important dates that I would like to draw to your attention. On Tuesday May 8, the Parent Councils from the Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst areas are sponsoring a "Child and Youth Stress, Anxiety and Depression" workshop - 6 to 8 pm at the Turner Centre in Bracebridge. The evening will be very informative and participants will no doubt take away from the night a 'raft' of resource information. There is a flyer with more information in each report card envelope. Pure Gold returns to the GHS cafetorium on Thursday May 17th - 7 pm. This is the annual student/staff talent show hosted by GHS and the Arts Dept. On Tuesday June 12th the Exploring the Arts class will be performing their musical show at a public gathering at 7 pm in the GHS cafetorium. Mrs. Edwards guarantees it will be a wonderful evening! The GHS Prom for2012 graduates and their dates will be hosted by the Real Muskoka Cruise Lines aboard the Wenonah on June 15th . Students and staff set sail at 6 pm for a four hour dinner cruise.
Hopefully spring will finally find us (temperature wise) and return the good ol' black flies to feast on Muskokans and tourists alike! The next seven weeks will fly by and all students are encouraged to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to their studies and their academic responsibilities to insure a successful semester.
