The Gryphons robotic team travelled to Georgian college this weekend to compete in our first ever competition….was this an eye opener. It was immediately obvious that other teams had better access to tools, money and experience…but in true gryphon’s style, we showed them that all the glitz and glamour is just window dressing. The gryphons found themselves allied with the strongest team of the competition who chose us…the small but persistent gryphons robot named “Mike” weighing in at a tournament low 61.2 pounds, Mike was viewed by many as the underdog…well world small dogs have fight too. The gryphons team represented by Sierra, Ashley, Aiden, Thomas and Ellie (as the rest were at improv doing equally awesome things) found themselves in the championship match and ultimately winning with their alliance. We are so proud of your accomplishments …

Another great achievement by this awesome school

From the Sports Desk:

Congratulations to the Junior Boys’ Hockey Team for their excellent performance this past Friday, during their tournament in Bala.  With two wins, the boys have extended their winning streak to an impressive ten straight games, over the past two junior seasons.

An overall outstanding team effort, and a hat-trick by Brendan Z, led to a 5-3 victory over Almaguin, and an amazing goaltending display by Ethan Gomez led to 4-0 shutout victory over St. Dom’s

Well done boys.
