And now from the arts desk . . . Last night, the senior drama class hosted their show here at GHS. They put together six short plays for the enjoyment of the Gravenhurst public. There were a variety of tones and styles on display, but the talent and enthusiasm was uniform throughout. A big thank you to the folks who came out to watch, and congratulations to our performers. You were the inspermation supremeka.

From the Sports Desk:

The track and field team competed in the GBSSA championships yesterday at York University. The athletes were up against some tough competition; having to compete against approximately 30 different schools with 16 of the top competitors in the Georgian Bay region in each event.  Many athletes achieved Personal best achievements in their events.  Nick Lami achieved a Personal best jump in the Triple jump and Tristan Fitzmaurice in shot put.  A great day was had by all athletes.

The top 6 athletes in each event move on to the OFSAA Central Regionals next Wednesday and Thursday.  Taylor Montgomery missed out in her Javelin and shot put capturing 8th in each event but, came out in 4th place in the discuss.  Dalton MacKenzie placed 3rd in shot put with a personal best throw of 12.91 metres.

Please wish Taylor and Dalton good luck at next week’s championship events.

Thanks to ALL track and field athletes for a successful season.
